ETHYLENE GLYCOL
Properties
Its flash is 116C, boiling point is 197.6C, ignition point is 121C. At normal temperature, it is a colorless, transparent, viscous, liquid. It can be mutually dissolved with water, methanol, ethanol, amyl alcohol, phenol, glycerin and so on. It dissolves in ether a little. With little poison, it smells sweet, and it is hygroscopic.
Usage
EG is mainly used in producing polyester, alkyl resin, cell liquor used in electrolytic capacitor, antifreeze, plasticizer, solvents and so on. Package
EG can be transported in galvanized iron drums or polyethylene plastic drums and tanks used in railway station. The containers should be sealed strictly. The containers must be cleaned and dried before using. Safety
Due to the toxicity of EG, the concentration of EG in the air of the operation area should be no more than 5mg/m3. The EG left on the ground or equipment should be flushed with water.
